Does Homes Selling Impact the Economy and Your Local Community?

August 20, 2021

So when you are thinking of buying a home you are often focusing on all the exciting new things to come and all the memories you will make in this new space. Oftentimes we do not consider how it will impact others in your community or the local economy. Buying and selling homes is a huge driver in the economy. Not only do these significantly impact and boost your local economy but the US economy as a whole. This is because it is a boost for all the professionals and businesses that are involved in a home buying/selling process.

A single home sale can greatly impact the economy in a great way. This is not specific to any one part of the transaction but really the sale as a whole because each part is important. Chief Economist for Zonda, Ali Wolf, said: “The housing market contributes to the economy in four main stages: during planning and land development, throughout the actual construction of the home, at the point of sale, and upon moving in.”

So let’s talk a little about why buying a home not only impacts you but greatly impacts the local community as well as the US economy as a whole. Think of all the moving parts of buying a home, you have your real estate agent, the contractor if it is new construction, the lending company, the inspector, the attorney’s office, and sometimes even more involved in one step or another in the home buying process. Each of these businesses benefit in some way from you buying a home. Not to mention each of these businesses that it impacts also has their own set of individuals that it is positively impacting.

Here is the big picture that I am trying to paint for you sota-speak, you buying a home is great for you and something to be extremely excited about and proud of.
